Cheers & Jeers
March 23, 2021
Cheers to the NCAA women’s basketball teams getting a new weight room. Thank you, NCAA, for the gender equality…finally.
Cheers to nine weeks left of this crazy school year. On the same note, less than two weeks until spring break!
Cheers to freshman Staff Writer Katie Johnson earning her 3rd-degree blackbelt this Saturday. And she’s only 15 years old.
Cheers to the production quality at Marvel Studios. See what we mean by watching “Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” now streaming on Disney+.
Cheers to the Starr’s Mill soccer team’s faculty night. According to girls team captain Mary Jane Gagliano, the smoothies were amazing (so are the teachers at Starr’s Mill).
Jeers to the March Madness brackets being busted. Basically, the whole Big Ten is out with the exception of No. 1-seed Michigan.
Jeers to the remaining inequalities between men’s and women’s sports in the NCAA. But hey, at least they fixed the weight rooms.
Jeers to the spring breakers who put Miami in a state of emergency. Thank you so much for reminding us of what happens when we do not follow safety protocols.
Jeers to the upcoming allergy season. It’s important for the plants to reproduce and all, but can pollen just not exist? That would be very much appreciated.
Jeers to the Atlanta shooting over the weekend that caused two deaths. Hate crimes are just all types of wrong.
Jeers to a full five-day week. After last week’s four days, and the three the week before, I’m just not ready for this.
