Starting the season with a 7-2 record, the Lady Panthers are on fire.
In a recent game against the Mt. Zion Bulldogs, the Lady Panthers put up 69 points to the Bulldogs’ 41. Senior Madison Highland was the leading scorer with 17 points, which included five 3-point shots.
Girls varsity basketball coach Shane Ratliff said he expects his Lady Panthers to have a break-out season. “I have high expectations,” he said. Why shouldn’t he? Three returning players, juniors Katie Wilson and Danielle Garcia and senior Alex Pitts, consistently score a lot of points. Wilson is the leading scorer with 103 points. Garcia, who isn’t far behind with 74 points, also leads in assists with 12 defensive and 31 offensive.
The Lady Panthers were scheduled to play in a tournament in Panama City Dec. 27 -29.
