Starr’s Mill welcomes Amy Hinote to the science department this year. Hinote, a Troy University alum who previously taught at Whitewater High School, comes to the Mill as a physical science and biology teacher. Hinote taught science for 10 years at Whitewater and now brings her skills to Starr’s Mill High.
“[Physical Science] is learning about the world around you which I always thought was very relatable,” Hinote said.
Hinote formerly lived in Peachtree City and went to Booth Middle for three years before moving back to Alabama where she was born. Later in life, Hinote attended Troy University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in comprehensive science education with a biology focus.
When Hinote is not teaching science, she takes care of her children. “I have two beautiful baby boys, a three-year-old, Kaden, and a two-year-old, Eli,” Hinote said. “They’re pretty much my hobby. I spend as much time as I can with them. They are very rambunctious, so they’re all over the place and they love to go outside and play ball.”
