Cheers

Cheers to the journalists who placed at the annual GSPA award competition. Senior Joslyn Weber earned All-Georgia in headline writing, junior Caroline Hubbard earned All-Georgiain social justice reporting, senior Annika Pepper earned All-Georgia in sports photography, and senior Mary Davis earned Superior in critical review.

Cheers to birthdays on non-school days. Speaking as someone whose birthday is August 4he first day of school next year, I envy everyone who gets to celebrate their birthday at home.

Cheers to the journalists who placed at the annual GSPA award competition.

Cheers to Celsius energy drinks. Not only are they healthy energy powered by green tea and guarana extract, but they taste better than any other, non-healthy option.

Cheers to the new LEGO Star Wars game that came out this past week. It is a nice throwback to childhood for everyone who grew up playing the original games.

Cheers to Easter. For all of our Christian friends, Easter is a wonderful time to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and for all of our non-religious friends, it is a fun time to get treats from the Easter bunny.

Jeers

Jeers to the weather over spring break. Sadly, it was windy and cold the entire weekend and most beaches were shut down.

Jeers to taxes. Who is FICCA, and why do they keep taking all my money?

Jeers to having a job while being in school. It stinks when you have to go straight from class directly to work, and then have to go home to do hours of homework before finally getting to eat and shower.

Jeers to taxes. Who is FICCA, and why do they keep taking all my money? It is not like anyone currently in high school is ever going to get social security.

Jeers to the college process. First, you have to apply to schools, then get rejected from schools, eventually settle on where you are going to go, find roommates, figure out dorms, and then pay thousands of dollars for a piece of paper.

Jeers to journalism moving from 7th period next year. All English teachers will have PLC that period, leaving us to stress over planning our schedules without knowing when our class will be.
