Zion 35-0 their first victory of the season. In this game, a new name rose to prominence in style, and the defense stayed strong against a crafty scrambler. Unlike most Starr’s Mill games, it was the opponent that was taking control of the game clock while the Panthers coasted with rapid-fire rushing touchdowns.

Senior running back Devin Barnett celebrates a touchdown with senior tackle Joseph Rampey and junior running back Brandon Mathis during their home game against the Mt. Zion Bulldogs. A blend between a bend, don’t break defense and a rapid-fire offensive attack led the Panthers to a 35-0 shutout and their first win of the season. Barnett took the ball in five carries for 134 yards and three touchdowns. The Panther offense as a whole put together 294 yards of offense in only about 17 and a half minutes of possession time.

In an atypical performance from Starr's Mill, the Lady Panthers staggered and stumbled in a 2-0 sweep. The loss puts them out of the top four teams in the region, putting their postseason contention in jeopardy in what is a new low for Starr’s Mill. Through the double header, Backes gave up 16 runs in an unusual performance from the star pitcher.
