Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior track and field athlete Kendra Ivaska as the 15th Player of the Week for the spring sports season.
“Another wonderful athlete that had a phenomenal day at state,” head coach Brandon Frey said.
Ivaska placed fourth in the 800-meter race with a time of 2 minutes, 19 seconds. She was also part of the 4×800 relay team that finished third with a time of 9:37.43. In her third event, she placed eighth in the 4×400 with a time of 4:03.99.
“I’ve been giving a performance that puts me on the podium every year,” Ivaska said. “So it’s just an incredible recognition from coach Frey.”
Ivaska has had a consistent performance throughout the years allowing her to meet a higher standard. She recently earned girls soccer Region 3-AAAA Player of the Year honors after scoring 31 goals and assisting 11 more this season.
The Starr’s Mill girls track and field team finished 18th overall at the AAAA GHSA State Championships.
