Cheers & Jeers
Cheers

Cheers to Hispanic Heritage Month. Starting September 15 and spanning to October 15, Hispanics all over the world are celebrated. Many independence days of Hispanic countries span the month.

Cheers to Homecoming week. This week is homecoming week at Starr’s Mill and it is the perfect time for school spirit. It is so great to see everyone come together and see everyone’s costumes all week.

Cheers to Tubi movies. Whether you are watching the weird Tubi originals or popular movies, you are sure to be entertained while on this free streaming service.

Cheers to Red Out. At last Friday’s game against Luella, patrons raised $8,378 for Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and the fight for a cure for Duchenne.

Cheers to the Georgia win last Saturday. The Bulldogs beat the Tennesee Volunteers in overtime 44-41. Go Dawgs.

Cheers to 6-7 jokes. While they can get a bit annoying, 6-7 jokes have been one of the most dumb yet entertaining jokes these last few months.

Jeers

Jeers to long walks from the parking lot. There is nothing worse than already being late to school and dreading the long walk into the building from the parking lot.

Jeers to Labubus. Labubus have become the newest bag accessory but have also gained a reputation as demonic for their resemblance to the Mesopotamian demon Pazuzu.

Jeers to the Roblox controversy. What once was a fun video game became a hub for pedophiles to groom victims due to its insufficient moderation.

Jeers to people who do not dress up for spirit weeks. Spirit weeks are the only times that students can come together as a school and people who do not want to dress up do not reflect our school spirit.

Jeers to random holidays. While there is nothing better than a good excuse to have fun, these random daily holidays can get a bit excessive like national cartonnage day or national day of civic hacking.

Jeers to people having their feet out at school. Flip flops and sandals are great, but no one  wants to be seeing, much less smelling, people’s feet all day at school.
