Farmer’s Insurance presented freshman swimmer Michael Tucker with the second Player of the Week award of the winter sports season.
Tucker qualified for state in two individual events, the 100 fly and the 200 individual medley, at the last meet in Carrollton. He also placed first in two relays.
“It feels good [to qualify for state],” Tucker said. “I hope to qualify again next year as well.”
The boys team has won each of the three meets they have competed in so far this season, and Tucker has played a key role in each one.
“My meets have gone well,” Tucker said. “I’ve been dropping time.”
In just his first year on the team, Tucker has already shown tremendous potential as a swimmer.
“He is an extremely hard worker who puts in the time and energy that it takes to be a great swimmer,” coach Derek Abrams said. “He has shown great promise.”
