Evan Bartek

Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize freshman Evan Bartek as the seventh Player of the Week for the winter sports season. 

“I put effort into the room every day, and put in the work everyday,” Bartek said. 

Bartek joined the wrestling team after Christmas break. Even though he weighs 190 lbs, he wrestled up at 220 lbs to fill the varsity spot for the team. 

“He has a lot of energy,” head coach John Steiner said. “He’s always willing to learn, listen and work hard to get better everyday.”

Bartek was also one of the eleven wrestlers on the team to qualify for the traditional sectional meet last weekend at LakePoint.

No Starr’s Mill wrestlers advanced past the traditional sectional meet.
