Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize junior track and field athlete Tani Alofe as the fifth Player of the Week for the spring sports season.

“I really like the people on the track team,” Alofe said. “I like track because it pushes you to work harder and to succeed.”

Tani is being recognized for her ability to earn the team points consistently  in both track and field. She competes in triple jump, long jump, 4×100-meter relay, and the 100-meter and 200-meter races.

“She’s got a great attitude and she’s a great team leader,” Walker said.

Alofe has been in the top two every time she has competed in long jump and triple jump this season. Last weekend, the girls team won the Jefferson Invitational.

Starr’s Mill track and field hosts Friday Night Lights starting this afternoon at 3:45 p.m.
