Senior Will Sutton has been selected as the 11th Player of the Week for the spring sports season. Coach Waller selected Sutton due to his consistency and determination to work hard and improve.

Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior Will Sutton as the 11th Player of the Week for the 2023 spring sports season.
“Will is just very consistent in his play, and he works hard at it,” head coach Burt Waller said. “He’s a very talented golfer and he has a good work ethic.”
Earlier in the season the boys competed in the GSGA Invitational where they played well. The boys golf team is seeking its fourth state championship this season. They won the 5A championship last year.
“I’ve worked really hard over the season and I’ve gotten better,” Sutton said. “I really started analyzing my weaknesses and trying to perfect each part [of golf] I wasn’t the best at.”
Sutton and his fellow Starr’s Mill teammates won the Region 1-AAAA title yesterday despite the weather conditions. Sutton led the Panthers to victory shooting a 75. The team will now prepare for the state championship held in May.
