Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize junior Grace Crockett as the 11th Player of the Week for the spring sports season.
At the area tournament earlier this month, Crockett shot 82. She led the girls team to its 10th consecutive area championship.
“I chose Grace because she’s led our team in scoring for the area tournament,” head coach Burt Waller said.
On May 19-20, the girls team competed in the state championship at the Bentwater Golf Club in Acworth.
“I’ve been playing better recently and scoring better,” Crockett said. “Around the greens, I can improve my scoring there.”
The girls finished fourth overall in AAAA. Sophomore Alex Gammill led the Panthers with a combined two-day score of 172. North Oconee won by three strokes over St. Pius.
On the boys side, Starr’s Mill finished eighth overall. Senior Cason Harrah shot an even par on day one and a +3 75 on day two for a combined total of 147. Cartersville won the AAAA state championship by three strokes over North Oconee.
