Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize junior football player Thomas Cochran as the seventh Player of the Week for the fall sports season.
“I think I contributed mostly on defense,” Cochran said. ”I had some solid tackles, [and] I had a big interception earlier in the game that put our team in a scoring position.”
Cochran has been a three-year starter at wideout and two-year starter as safety.
“Thomas is a two-way guy for us. Friday night, he had a huge fourth down catch for us,” head coach David Cooper said. “He’s one of our best players, and he deserves [to be Player of the Week].”
Along with one interception on defense, Cochran had one reception for 19 yards and two kick returns for a combined 22 yards.
Starr’s Mill hosts the Griffin Bears tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the first region game for both teams. The Panthers will recognize this year’s Homecoming court at halftime.
