Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize freshman softball player Allie McDowell as the ninth Player of the Week for the fall sports season.

“I contribute to the team by getting us started every game,” McDowell said. “I try to do my best to get on base so my teammates have an opportunity to score.”

McDowell contributes to the team by getting them started and pumped up during the game.

“She is absolutely killing it in our leadoff spot and starting shortstop,” head coach Peyton Dean said. 

Starr’s Mill softball is poised to return to the state playoffs for the first time since winning the state championship in 2021. The team is currently 16-8 overall and in fourth place in the region at 3-5.

The Lady Panthers host Northside (19-5, 6-2) at 7:30 p.m. on September 30.
