Junior Julian Agudelo advanced out of the county level GHP interviews in music. Agudelo credits Dr. John Odom and his personal vocal coach Craig Hembree for his success.

Junior Julian Agudelo will represent Starr’s Mill in music with the focus on voice as a tenor 2.
“I have taken Chorus all through out middle school and high school. I’m the president-elect for the top choir,” Agudelo said. “I took AP Music Theory as a sophomore, and I do vocal lessons and composition, and arranging music theory classes outside of school as well.”
Agudelo thanks Dr. John Odom for nominating him for GHP and credits his vocal teacher Craig Hembree for guiding him through music the entire time.
“Being the only choral student chosen in the entire choir is an honor in itself,” Agudelo said.
Agudelo is interested in music therapy and one of the tools he will be using is his voice as well as other instruments. He could also see himself pursuing a music education career.
In Agudelo’s freshmen year he received the Outstanding Choral Student award for the men’s choir Camereta. He has also attended Honors Chorus and All-state for voice. Agudelo also participates in musical theater.
“I was in the one-act play ‘Once,’ and I will be auditioning for more roles next year,” Agudelo said.
In his spare time, Agudelo has recording sessions of himself singing and practicing with other instruments, such as the guitar.
