Junior Maggie Kluemper advanced out of the county GHP interviews in visual arts. Kluemper credits her parents, her current art teacher Todd Little, and Wendy Keeney, an art teacher from middle school, for her success.

Junior Maggie Kluemper will represent Starr’s Mill in visual arts.

Kluemper has taken AP Art History and other art classes that helped her prepare. She credits her parents, current art teacher Todd Little, and Wendy Keener, who teaches art at Rising Starr Middle School.

“[My mom and dad] bought me all kinds of supplies and support everything that I want to do,” Kluemper said. “[They] signed me up for art classes outside of school.”

Klumeper was nominated as the underclassmen art student of the year in 2022. She also has won an on-set drawing award. Kluemper recently earned a sculpture award at Beta Con earlier this semester.

“I took AP Art History last year, and that was really a class to take because part of the final [GHP level] is the test on stuff,” Kluemper said.

Kluemper wants to go into a STEM career, which may include architecture.

In her free time, Kluemper likes to draw, paint, bake, and play lacrosse.
