Junior Sydney Gedeon advanced out of the county level GHP interviews in mathematics. Gedoen credits her parents and teachers for her success.

Sydney Gedeon

Junior Sydney Gedeon will represent Starr’s Mill in mathematics.

“I have been in the accelerated program since eighth grade. In eighth grade I took Algebra I and half of Geometry,” Gedeon said. “I am currently taking Accelerated Precalc[ulus].”

Gedeon would like to credit her parents for her success, as well as the two math teachers who nominated her, J.B. Campbell and Julie Spencer.

“My parents always help me out with things,” Gedeon said. “Putting me through school and supporting me.”

Last year Gedeon took second place in the Morehouse Math Competition.

Gedeon wants to have a career in mathematics, mainly in finance, because she loves working with money. Specifically, she wants to become a financial consultant for a company someday.

Gedeon loves to learn new things and do math in her spare time. She also enjoys reading and watching crime shows.
