Cheers & Jeers
Cheers

Cheers to the Starr’s Mill football team winning in the quarter finals. In last Friday’s game against Central, both teams were tied 29-29 when quarterback Logan Inagawa threw a hail mary to wide receiver and fellow junior Lincoln Delaere who scored a touchdown in the final five seconds. The Panthers host Perry at 7:30 p.m. on December 1. Go Panthers!

The only time it is okay to ‘get into the holiday spirit’ is after Thanksgiving.”

Cheers to it finally being an acceptable time to decorate for Christmas. The only time it is okay to “get into the holiday spirit” is after Thanksgiving. Any time before that feels rushed and almost too commercial-ized

Cheers to holiday drinks. Many restaurants such as Starbucks, Chick-Fil-A, McDonald’s, and Dairy Queen have released their own holiday drinks. We are not going to lie, a lot of them are actually very good. A favorite is the Chick-fil-A Peppermint milkshake.

Cheers to college football. This has been an eventful week for college football, especially Georgia fans. With the Georgia Bulldogs winning 31-23 against Georgia Tech, and the hyped up SEC Championship game featuring Georgia vs Alabama this weekend, there is a lot to be happy about for college football fans.

Cheers to the break being soon. As much as we love school and learning, we also enjoy not having to sit down for seven hours. So thank goodness we get another break. Sure, we literally just had one, but you can never go wrong with breaks.

Jeers

Jeers to jet lag. Nothing worse than getting back home from a fun trip on the other side of the world, but still being stuck in that time zone. Especially when you have to go to school the next day.

Jeers to construction taking way too long. It is so frustrating to be late to school for the third time in a row because of construction slowing down traffic. It is even worse when you see it being done during school days for only an hour at a time. We might not be construction geniuses, but we think if a little more time was put into it, construction would be done much sooner.

Jeers to tangled headphone cords. Headphones with cords? Those still exist? Yes, they do actually. And as much as we love not having to spend a lot of money on Bluetooth headphones, we do not like it when we put headphones in our pockets for one minute and they are immediately tangled. How much time of someone’s life is spent having to untangle tangled headphones?

Jeers to being lonely during breaks. Let us get this straight. There is a difference between being alone and being lonely, and some like to be alone without being lonely. But there is something so isolating about being home on school breaks while your friends are out traveling.

Jeers to exams coming soon. The only reason we are happy for exams is because that means break is also soon. We are not happy about the exams themselves, though. No one is. No one likes having to take a test that covers every single thing you have learned throughout the school year.
