Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior Emma Frank as the second Player of the Week for the winter sports season.

“I try my best to include everybody on the team and I really like seeing everybody succeed, not just myself,” Frank said. “I work hard for the whole team.”

Frank is described as an excellent player who shows leadership and a hard work ethic. She is showing encouragement and leadership in her last year on the team.

“Emma is a great swimmer and a great person. She encourages other swimmers, she helps other swimmers, and she has taken a leadership role,” head coach Derek Abrams said. “She helps mentor other swimmers, and then on top of that, she is really fast. So she is just the overall athlete that we’re looking for.”

Frank has qualified for state in the 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, and the 500-yard freestyle. She swam the 100-free in 58.34 seconds, the 100-breaststroke in 1 minute, 14.17 seconds, and the 500-free in 5:38.47.

So far this season, Starr’s Mill has placed first in the Blue Devil Invitational and won its dual meet against Whitewater. The girls team also placed fourth in the Tik Tok Challenge.

Starr’s Mill swim competes against Fayette County and Sandy Creek on December 1 at the Kedron Aquatic Center.
