Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognizes senior swimmer Jonah Hendrickson as the eighth Player of the Week for the winter sports season. 

“For the whole season he’s worked really hard and he’s been a leader on the team,” head coach Derek Abrams said, “He deserved it. He encourages people and just does what a captain does by leading the team.”

Hendrickson has been swimming all four years of high school. He has earned a place in the state meet the last three years.

“I definitely put in a lot of hard work this season, and I’m glad it all paid off,” Hendrickson said. 

Hendrickson helped the team by getting an individual state-cut time and placing first in multiple relays at the county championship last weekend. 

“He’s one of the captains on the team,” Abrams said. “During practice he will go off to the side and help teach other swimmers technique-wise, and he helped the coaches put some workouts together.”

Starr’s Mill will face off against other high schools across Georgia at the state swim meet on February 7 at Georgia Tech. Prelims will be at 9:30 a.m., and finals will be at 6 p.m.
