Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior Vaishnavi Jayakumar as the fifth Player of the Week for the spring sports season.

“[Tennis] is really good for me,” Jayakumar said. “It structures my life, [and] gives me something to look forward to.”

Jayakumar works well under pressure and can compete well under competitive circumstances. She was awarded with Player on the Week because she is a great leader and role model. 

“She’s quiet and reserved, but she leads with dignity and that soft spoken encouragement to all of the kids,” head coach Amy Evert said.

Vaishnavi competes in line 1 singles. The girls team is 7-5 overall and 5-1 in region play.

The team competes in the region tournament on April 10 at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.
