Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior corner safety Erik Lundstrom as the 18th Player of the Week for the fall season.
“I’m a leader,” Lundstrom said. “[I] push everyone on the team to reach their full potential.”
Lundstrom had two interceptions in last week’s game against Jonesboro. He has 5 total interceptions this season while the team has a total of 8. His longest interception return this season has been for 46 yards.
The Panthers lost 34-7 to Jonesboro on October 30. With the loss, Starr’s Mill finished the regular season as the No. 4 seed in Region 3-AAAA. The win gave the Cardinals the No. 3 seed.
“In Friday night’s game he had two interceptions,” football head coach David Cooper said. “It was huge for defense. That momentum swings for us. He just had a great year and a great four years with us.”
The Panthers travel to Marist on November 7 for the first round of GHSA State Playoffs. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
