Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior swimmer Elliott Dale as the first Player of the Week for the winter sports season.

“I love being with the team,” Dale said. “I enjoy getting in the water to cool down afterwards. It’s very relaxing. It’s nice getting in afterwards, whether you failed or succeeded.”

Dale is an experienced swimmer. He has been a member of the Starr’s Mill swim team since 2022. He is an incredibly quick swimmer, and he has placed in competitions numerous times. Dale is a leader to others in and out of the water. Not only is he a natural role model as a senior on the team, Dale also goes out of his way to help others in any way possible.

“Elliot is a phenomenal swimmer. He swims extremely fast, but he’s more than just a fast swimmer,” head coach Derek Abrams said. “He’s someone that helps other swimmers out and likes to lead by example. He leads his lanes at practice and he’s always out to help the team the best that he can.”

At Spear and Shield on November 1, Dale placed first in the 400 free relay. He swam the anchor leg of the race in 54.73 seconds. He also placed second in the 200 medley relay. He swam the fly portion of the race in 25.63 seconds. Last year, Dale earned 12th in 100 butterfly at the AAAA state competition.

Starr’s Mill swim competes at the Central Aquatic Center in Marietta on November 15.
