Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize sophomore swimmer Hollyann Gentry as the second Player of the Week for the winter sports season.

“[The team] all bond together and are connected,” Gentry said. “I think we’ve been doing pretty good this year, and I hope we win county.”

This is Grentry’s second year on the girls swim team. She normally swims the 100 butterfly but mostly focuses on the 50 free style. Coach Robin Huggins chose her because of the time she has dropped in her races and the dedication she has to the team.

“Hollyann has been killing it this season,” Huggins said. “She worked really hard at practice, she’s focused … She’s just a really good example of working hard and it shows on the weekend when we swim.”

Just a couple weeks ago, Gentry dropped 14 seconds in the 100 fly.

The teams next meet will be held at the Kedron swimming pool on November 21 at 5:30 p.m. against McIntosh. The team will celebrate Senior Night prior to the meet.
