Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior girls lacrosse player Hannah Leckie as the first Player of the Week for the spring sports season. Leckie was nominated for her determination and perseverance as the goalie.
“She’s a beast in the goal,” head coach Tony Kluemper said. “Against Pensacola and Golf Breeze, she kept us in the game and almost got a shutout in our scrimmage against Newnan.”
Over winter break, the Lady Panthers traveled to Florida to play against Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. Starr’s Mill lost to Pensecola 12-9 and lost to Gulf Breeze 9-7.
“I’ve stepped up with a couple of injuries during practice,” Leckie said. “And I think I’ve stepped up as a leader on the team.”
Girls lacrosse travels to North Paulding on February 28 for a 12 p.m. game.
