Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize junior tennis player William Deslyper as the fifth Player of the Week for the spring sports season.

“I played pretty well against McIntosh,” Deslyper said. “I think the coaches were just happy to see me play how I normally would.”

Prior to his loss against Columbus on March 23, Deslyper had won his previous three matches against McIntosh, Dunwoody, and Blessed Trinity. He won his match against McIntosh 6-1, 7-5, but the team collectively lost 2-3.

“William in recent weeks has really hit his stride again,” head coach Katie Tucker said. “He did an amazing job at the Granger tournament. He has played all season, he has been very positive, and he has shown real tenacity and consistency.”

The boys started the season by winning the Trojan Invitational at Carrollton. The boys team has an overall record of 12-3 but has lost its last two matches to McIntosh and Columbus.

On March 26, boys tennis defeated Harris County, 5-0, to remain undefeated in region play.

Starr’s Mill hosts East Coweta on April 2 for the final home match of the regular season. Prior to the match they will recognize their 11 seniors.
