Cheers & Jeers

Cheers & Jeers
Cheers

Cheers to back to back four-day weeks. Due to the two professional learning days, we have two weeks that are shortened. Always feels good being closer to the weekend.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of “Oppenheimer” for sweeping the event.”

Cheers to Ariana Grande’s new album, “eternal sunshine. Editor Ella Bissonnette wrote a review covering the album, highlighting a new age for the artist.

Cheers to college basketball conference championships. Basketball fans everywhere watch on with anticipation as they hope their favorite team wins the tournament or earns an at-large bid into the big dance, the NCAA tournament.

Cheers to flowers. They are just really pretty and a reminder that spring is on its way.

Cheers to the Oscars. For the first time in a while, it actually felt like everything that deserved an award, got one. Congratulations to the cast and crew of “Oppenheimer” for sweeping the event.

Jeers

Jeers to showing up to work when you are not scheduled. What is worse is teachers having to come to work Friday and Monday while students have two additional student holidays.

Jeers to poor reading comprehension. It feels infuriating to not understand what you are reading. It feels like you are wasting your time.

Did we learn nothing from “Barbie”?”

Jeers to the SAT and benchmark tests. Especially late junior year, it feels like you have test after test after test. It is extremely overwhelming.

Jeers to fights at basketball games. Listen, we get that basketball gets to be very passionate and you get really into the game, but why are you fighting on the court? Put that anger into the actual game, please.

Jeers to Oscar snubs. In particular, Margot Robbie was not nominated for best leading actress despite giving an amazing performance. She definitely should have been at least nominated. Did we learn nothing from “Barbie”?
