Starr’s Mill welcomes physical education and health teacher Cody Haralson to the Panther family. This is his seventh year teaching and eighth year coaching.
“I’ve done one year at Landmark Christian Middle School coaching football, seven years at McIntosh [High School] coaching football, three years of boys lacrosse and two of girls basketball,” Haralson said.
He graduated from Whitewater High School in 2007 and was inspired by his own high school football coach. On the coaching end, Haralson’s philosophy is developing fundamentals from the base up and working on teamwork.
“I lean back on my high school coach, Peter Paul, who is the one that influenced me to coach high school sports,” Haralson said.
In his free time, he spends time with his wife Jillian, who he credits as one of his greatest influences, and his three sons, Canaan, Nolan and Gavin.
“[My] biggest [influence] is my wife, Jillian. She is my rock,” Haralson said. “She is the one that keeps me focused and keeps me relaxed when stressed.”
Haralson has stayed in Fayette County his whole life in order to stay near his family and his wife’s family.
“”I’m so excited to be a part of the tradition and excellence that comes with Starr’s Mill athletics and academics,” Haralson said.
