Starr’s Mill welcomes computer science teacher Chip Kramlich to the Panther family.
Kramlich began his teaching career 16 years ago in the Starr’s Mill math department. After a year, he moved to Clayton County and Henry County. For the last eight years, he taught computer science at Fayette County High School.
“Everybody should learn to code. It doesn’t mean you are going to be a professional coder. It provides skills that you will use in other spots,” Kramlich said. “Specifically problem solving and computational thinking. These skills can be used in other content areas.”
Kramlich is responsible for starting the computer science pathway. This includes the introductory course and the AP computer science course he is teaching alongside engineering and computer science teacher Rob Bell.
Outside of working, Kramlich enjoys fishing and kayaking. He also dabbles in electronics and enjoys figuring out wiring systems, including the electronic clock he made that he displays in his classroom.
