Starr’s Mill welcomes paraprofessional Eli Garcia to the Panther family. He graduated from Starr’s Mill High School in 2022. He goes into classrooms and assists students and teachers with answering questions and providing support.
“I do my best to make sure the classrooms I’m in and the students I work with get the most help that they need,” Garcia said.
Garcia started as a history major and wanted to teach high school. While in college,he found that the classes he had were not inspiring, so he switched his major. He now works as a paraprofessional at Starr’s Mill.
“I applied, and now that I’m here, I’m looking back into education,” Garcia said. “I want to get my Master’s [degree] in education and teach secondary economics.”
“It’s definitely not the path I thought I took, when I was finishing up in college, but it’s where I am at, and I couldn’t be happier to be in this role, and hopefully continue either here or the county full time.” Garcia said.
Garcia is currently a senior at Kennesaw State University studying media and entertainment with a focus on film and photography.
