Starr’s Mill welcomes Shannon Bowers to the Panther family.
Math teacher Bowers originally worked as a mechanical engineer in South Carolina. After five years in the field, she developed a passion to teach.
She taught in South Carolina for 12 years. This is her fifth year in Fayette County Public Schools.
Bowers taught at Rising Starr Middle School and still gets to teach a few of the same students.
“I love Starr’s Mill so far,” Bowers said. “Seeing students I have taught past years and seeing their growth.”
Both of Bowers’ children went to Starr’s Mill. Now that they have graduated, Bowers moved up to teaching at the high school.
“I love helping students reach those lightbulb moments,” Bowers said.
Bowers loves traveling with her family, reading, and baking. While watching college football she cheers on the Clemson Tigers.
