Starr’s Mill welcomes Quin McConathy to the Panther family. He graduated from Starr’s Mill in 2021 and now joins the faculty as a history teacher.
“It feels great to give back to the community,” McConathy said. “Especially at a school that prepared me well for college and career readiness.”
Inside the classroom, McConathy believes that the best way to learn is to be a historian. This pertains to doing lots of assignments that involve reading, looking at ancient artifacts, being interactive, and writing. He also believes that it is an important skill to have outside of school and the classroom.
“It’s also a really important skill when students get out in the work world,” McConathy said. “Also when they want to become really functional citizens of the Democratic Republic.”
Outside of school, McConathy likes to spend his free time on things like photography and videography, hiking, reading, and watching shows and movies with his brothers.
