Starr’s Mill welcomes special education teacher Sharon Wright to the Panther family.
“[Teaching] is my childhood dream career,” Wright said. “Just the fact that being able to work with young people and knowing that I might help make an impact in some kind of way.”
Wright moved from Ohio to Georgia in 2012. Just as Wright was searching for a teaching job in Georgia, a role at Starr’s Mill popped up. Since moving to Starr’s Mill, Wright has explained that she is really interested in helping students succeed by catering to the way that they learn.
Although Write’s job entails that she mainly works with students to better their learning experience, she also co-teaches in English teachers classes.
“If students can’t learn the way we teach, we need to teach the way they learn,” Wright said.
In her free time, Wright enjoys trying new experiences and exploring. Whether trying a new restaurant or watching a new show, Wright is always excited to spend time with friends and family.
“I am a spirit person,” Wright said, ”I have school spirit and when they are doing stuff, I’m going to participate.”
