Junior Gracie Deaton is currently reading “The Priory of the Orange Tree” by Samantha Shannon.
“I saw it on TikTok and it looked really good,” Deaton said.

The novel dives into a fantasy land on the edge of a war when two different kingdoms must face a threatening dragon while their queen must also get married and has been threatened to be murdered.
It follows three different third person perspectives: a spy to protect the queen, an aspiring dragonrider, an exiled alchemist, and courtier on a diplomatic mission with the queen. All of these characters are followed throughout the story having to overcome their own struggles in order to unite against their common enemy and help the queen.
“[I would recommend this book to] anyone who likes fantasy novels,” Deaton said, “or any novels that are well written.”
