Last week, varsity boys lacrosse lost in a heated game against Marist, 10-4.
“We did some things really well,” head coach Schmidlkofer said. “They got out on us early, and we could never catch up. That’s what hurt us.”
Varsity boys played well against the fierce competition despite starting off slow and having difficulty recovering. Marist scored five times in the first quarter to lead 5-1. While the Panthers worked defense in the second half, they struggled on offense.
“Everyone knows how to play, but we just need to learn how to play together as a team,” junior Tanner Via said. “Work hard as a team [and] focus on each game at a time.”
The boys now prepare for playoffs, working on their midfield play and building upon skills during practice.
After winning the area, boys lacrosse earned a first-round bye in the GHSA state playoffs and will host Fellowship Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on May 2.
