Teens find ways to have fun on Halloween

With Halloween tomorrow, student finalize plans and lay out costumes to make the big day go over smoothly.

Halloween night for junior Brittany Perry doesn’t consist of the usual party or trick or treating. Instead, scaring people until they wet themselves is more her style.

“I made one lady with kids fall because I jumped out from behind a barrel and acted as if I was going to grab her feet,” Perry said.
Perry volunteers at the Station 81 firehouse in Peachtree City on South Peachtree Parkway during its annual haunted house and trail. Perry participates in Rookie School, a program run by the Boy Scouts of America for high school students who are interested in becoming firefighters. Perry gets the privilege of working inside the haunted house and scaring people silly.

Unlike Perry, sophomore Josh Foster has less eventful plans for Wednesday night.
“I plan on just staying home and maybe scaring kids outside my house,” Foster said.
Senior Kelley Utt is disappointed about her Halloween plans. “Usually I dress up and trick or treat at as many houses before 10 p.m. and then I hand out candy at my door,” Utt said. “But this year I have to work.”
Freshman Sophie Handel has a few different options. “I think I’m going to a friend’s house and watching movies,” she said, “but I also might be cool and go trick or treating!”
Senior Tyler Nowicki’s plans for Halloween are a little more relaxing. “Instead of all the costumes, candy and stuff, I’m going to spend Halloween at a student ministry bonfire at my church, Heritage Christian,” Nowicki said. “We are going to be hanging out with friends and worshipping the Lord.”
Sophomore Amy Allen is spending her night somewhat like Nowicki.  “I am helping out at Hallelujah Night at my church, First Baptist Peachtree City,” Allen said.  Hallelujah Night is a night filled with costumes, candy, jumpy houses and games for all ages.
If you are still in need of plans Netherworld, a haunted house on 6624 Dawson Boulevard in Norcross will be open from 7 p.m. to midnight.  Of course, it would never hurt to stay at home and hand out candy to the little kids who come to your door.
Fayette trick or treaters don’t have to worry about the wrath of Hurricane Sandy, which devastated parts of the northeast and mid-west.  But if you are going out, you can still expect some strong winds and nippy temperatures after dark.
