Starr’s Mill is excited to welcome its newest guidance counselor, Meshanna Marcus. Marcus replaces Paula O’Shields who partially retired at the end of last school year.

“My colleagues are all so inviting and welcoming,” Marcus said.

As a child, Marcus always thought she would be a pediatrician, but then in college went through multiple degrees until deciding on education. Just like her predecessor, she started off as a math teacher.  However, given her organizational skills, she decided should become a counselor.

“[My favorite part is] all the people,” Marcus said. ”Even before the beginning of the year, I got so many emails welcoming me.”

In her free time, Marcus enjoys being outdoors and going on walks in the spring. She also is actively involved in aerobic and zumba classes.
