Starr’s Mill welcomes learning specialist Kendra Woods to the Panther family. Woods will continue working in the special education department after moving from Rising Starr Middle School to Starr’s Mill. This is her 27th year in education.

“Learning is lifelong,” Woods said.

Woods has worked with exceptional children throughout her teaching career.  She is originally from Illinois. This year she will collaborative teach algebra classes.

Woods’ philosophy and approach to the job are prominent in the way she teaches her students and the care she gives them. She is willing to help and believes it is never too late to learn. Some of her motivations through the years have been her children as well as the success of her past students.

“There is never a dumb question to ask, except for the one you didn’t ask,” Woods said.

Woods enjoys skiing, reading, and watching her kids do their after-school activities. An interesting fact about Woods is that everybody in her immediate family was born in a different state.
