Foreign Language classes aren’t confined to the classroom. Spanish III teacher Madeline Rodriguez took her students to the dance floor to teach them the rumba. It was a way to tie what the students were learning in the classroom to the culture.

After teaching her students to sing “Quizas, Quizas, Quizas” by Andrea Bocelli and Jennifer Lopez in the Foreign Language computer lab, Rodriguez  decided to add an after-school component as well. She chose this song because the title is in the subjunctive tense, and Rodriguez took this opportunity to teach grammar and vocabulary through an activity that is more hands-on than the sedentary classroom setting.
