Fayette County teachers and school staff receive the Covid-19 vaccine. The Board of Education will draw from the ESSER II program to give teachers bonuses for doing so.

Teachers are being incentivized to receive the vaccination for Covid-19 in efforts to keep staff in schools.

On August 27, the Fayette County Board of education issued a reward system for all teachers who can prove they are immunized.

Any teacher, part/full time employee, and substitute teacher who works a minimum of 15 hours between the dates of August 23 to November 30 of the 2021-22 school year will receive a $500 bonus. The only other requirement to claim this bonus is proof of vaccination.

Both newly and preexisting receivers of the Moderna, Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be paid via the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief II.

ESSER II draws funding from three separate acts. The program offers bonuses for teachers working during the pandemic.
