HOSA traveled to Athens, Georgia, earlier this week for the annual fall leadership conference and placed in two events.

Juniors Jordan Clark, Saisri Mandapaka, and Ginger Swayne placed 4th with their recruitment poster. Sophomore Ansiba Bakaly placed 5th with a mental health action digital brochure.

“[HOSA] allows students to utilize their skills that they learned in the healthcare science classes,” HOSA sponsor and healthcare teacher Julie McKenna said.

A total of 17 students attended the leadership conference.

HOSA’s qualifying tests for state are held at Starr’s Mill. If students qualify in the top five of the region, they move onto state, which is held in March at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta.
