Construction for new housing has started on the land where Ashton Lane Farm used to be. The new subdivision is expected to include 74 homes.

Construction started for a new subdivision across Redwine Road from Starr’s Mill High School.

“We asked folks what they loved about PTC. Overwhelming, the top responses were: the path system, our parks, safety, and low crime rates, and fantastic schools,” Peachtree City planning and development director Robin Cailloux said.

The new subdivision has replaced Ashton Lane Farm.

There will be 74 large single-family homes on 12,000-square-foot lots developed by Jeff Lindsey Communities. The developer will be adding a cart path from the new subdivision to Foreston Place.

The city is also planning on adding paths from the subdivision to the medical office building, and across from the Animal Shelter to the tunnel at Walgreens.

“This is the last undeveloped property on the Peachtree City side of Redwine Road,” Cailloux said.

Construction is expected to start in February or March weather permitting.

This is one of many Redwine projects scheduled for 2023
