Starr’s Mill is hosting its first Panther Palooza. The event planned for 6 p.m. on February 2 replaces and combines two annual events – Special Programs Night and freshmen orientation.

“I wanted to have a bigger event, so more people are exposed to what we have to offer,” assistant principal Andrea Freeman said.

This event will allow parents and students to meet teachers of AP and CTE courses. It will also be an opportunity to see the new math curriculum and course progression.

Sports that are offered will also be presented to students by coaches.

While replacing them, Panther Palooza will not be operated in the same way as the two previous events it replaces.

The night will start with an informational meeting in the Willie Duke Auditorium before breaking out into smaller groups. Those groups will then be on a rotation every 15 minutes.

Following feedback from this event, future special program nights might be formulated in this same way.
