Cheers & Jeers

Cheers to October. From colorful fallen leaves and nice, moderate temperature to Halloween, October is one of the best months of the year.

Cheers to Dancing with the Pantherettes.

Cheers to the long weekend coming up. I am so grateful for the small breaks we have every now and then. Getting a few days off from school is something I can look forward to because it helps me get caught up in school while also still having time to relax.

Cheers to sweaters. Fuzzy, warm, colorful. What’s not to love? Maybe the itchy ones, but we are excluding those from the list.

Cheers to candy. Chocolate or fruity? Personally, I am an all of the above type of person. I have a major sweet tooth, so I am happy with whatever I get.

Cheers to Dancing with the Pantherettes. Hosted by the Starr’s Mill Dance team, Dancing with the Pantherettes is prepared for its 10th show. Members of the Starr’s Mill dance team are partnered up with an athlete from one of the school’s various sports teams. The annual fundraiser begins at 6:30 p.m. on October 4 in Duke Auditorium.

Jeers to losing our Homecoming game. It is so unfortunate that the Class of 2024s last ever Homecoming game ended in a 17-10 loss to Trinity. I know the players did well, and it was a very close game, but nonetheless it is very unfortunate.

Jeers to having to take the PSAT.

Jeers to having to take the PSAT. Seniors do not have to take the PSAT, but I remember the time when I did. The stress of feeling like it was the real thing was too much just for it to be practice.

Jeers to the Buy One, Get One discount ending at Starbucks. I mean, come on, who does not love discounts? Especially when you can get two drinks for the price of one. They should definitely bring this back more often.

Jeers to college applications. The first semester of senior year is undoubtedly the most stressful due to all of the college application deadlines, forms, and payments seniors have to go through to get into college. Do not forget trying to get the highest score possible on the SAT and ACT.

Jeers to car window frost. For those of you who do not drive a vehicle, you do not understand how annoying it is to have to stand out in the cold wiping off the morning frost on all your windows. For some reason it only seems to form when I am running late.
