“It was a book I read for fun,” Heaton said. “I love to read and I haven’t read in a long time.”

The book’s central theme is that you do not know where the good or the bad is going to come from, but that you have a choice to make it what you want.

“Verity ” is part of Hoover’s 24-book series. This particular novel is a stand-alone thriller and romantic mix.

Hoover has written a total of 31 books, including the 24-book series. The series begins with “Slammed,” published in 2012, and the most recent is “Reminders of Him” at the end of 2022.

Hoover’s most popular sequels include the books “It Ends with Us” and “It Starts with Us.” Another popular sequel series consists of three parts: “Maybe Someday,” “Maybe Not,” and “Maybe Now.” “Maybe Someday” and “Maybe Not” were both published in 2014, and “Maybe Now” was published in 2018.

“I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading thrillers or psychological thrillers where more information comes out slowly as you keep reading the book,” Heaton said.

Hoover is an American author who grew up in Texas. She graduated from Saltillo High School in 1998. She attended Texas A&M-Commerce College and earned a degree in social work.
