Sophomore Jesiah Lloyd is listening to “Leave the door open” by Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak.

The song was released on March 5, 2021, as a debut song for the power duo of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak known as Silk Sonic. “Leave the door open” debuted at No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard Top 100 and peaked at No. 1. Within its first week, it recorded 27,000 downloads and 23.5 million streams.

“I like his style, his type of music, and his flow,” Loyd said.

“Leave the door open,” is a feel-good love song, with spectacular vocals and a beautiful piano backtrack. The message of the song speaks to love and affection for the one you love. The light piano and soft vocals add to the entire experience.

“It’s better than what all the other artists are putting out now,” Loyd said.

“Leave the door open,” was Mars’ first song since his 2019 song “Please me” featuring Cardi B. Since the release of “Leave the door open,” the duo has released “Skate,” which carries a similar vibe to Silk Sonic’s first track.
