English teacher Bonnie Stanford is currently listening to “Cold Beverage” by G. Love & Special Sauce. It is a song about how you should enjoy the little things in life.

English teacher Bonnie Stanford is currently listening to “Cold Beverage” by G. Love & Special Sauce. 

“It’s actually kind of funny the lyrics are silly,” Stanford said. ”It’s light and happy.”

“Cold Beverage” has a ‘90s and 2000s tone to it with its upbeat and fast-paced tempo. The song can seem dumb at first but actually has a deeper meaning behind the lyrics. The song conveys that you should enjoy the little things in life. 

Love & Special Sauce debuted their first album “Back in the Day,” in 1993. “Cold Beverage” was released on their second album, “G. Love and Special Sauce.” The album was loved by many around the world for its laid-back tone. The album was certified gold after it sold 500,00 copies. Their sound reminds people of blues, rock, and hip-hop making their songs different than most. 

“It’s a bop, and it reminds me of college,” Stanford said.
