Senior Hope Delaney is listening to “98 Braves” by Morgan Wallen. The song is about the 1998 Braves falling short of winning the World Series, similar to some life relationships not working out.

Senior Hope Delaney is currently listening to “98 Braves” by Morgan Wallen.

“[I like this song] because it talks about the Braves and it is sung by Morgan Wallen,” Delaney said.

“98 Braves,” which is one of Morgan Wallen’s most recent hits, talks about the 1998 Atlanta Braves and the team’s similarities to his relationship.

The Braves won a total of 106 games in their 1998 season, but unfortunately fell short of winning the World Series that year.  This song illustrates how sometimes relationships that are going well can fall short of succeeding.

To make this comparison, Wallen sings, “We swung for the fences and came up short… If we were a team and love was a game, we’d be the 98 Braves.”

Morgan Wallen’s debut was in 2015, and has since released three popular albums “If I Know Me,” “Dangerous,” and “One Thing At A Time.” “98 Braves” was released in his album “One Thing At A Time” and has had 15.6 million official streams and 891,000 radio streams.

Wallen’s unique country music style has led him to gain much popularity and recognition as a country singer.

“[I like Morgan Wallen because] he makes relatable music,” Delaney said.

“98 Braves” is available to stream on Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, and Pandora.
