Get excited for the final half of the school year with Playboi Carti’s fast paced “ILoveUIHateU.”

The song features a variety of flute-sounding synths looped throughout the whole song. The synths are topped with the iconic voice of rapper Playboi Carti.

“ILoveUIHateU” has a much deeper meaning than presented, as Carti opens up about his problems in life and how the stress he faces makes him turn to drugs to help cope.

The lyrics “I mix all of my problems and Prometh’ until I roll on my deathbed” symbolize the rapper’s problem with an addiction to codeine.

Playboi Carti, named Jordan Carter, is a rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. He is most known for his song “Magnolia” and for featuring on Tyler, the Creator’s 2019 “EARFQUAKE.”

“ILoveUIHateU” appeared on the highly anticipated album “Whole Lotta Red.” The album was released in late 2020. It was Carti’s first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. The album received many conflicting reviews upon release, yet as time passed the album has received positive feedback. “Whole Lotta Red” was recently named the top Hip-Hop Album of 2021 by The Rolling Stones.
