Epic/not so fast
The song “Heartbreak Anniversary” is a song about breakups and how they are hard to move past. This song was released in 2021.

Breakups are rough and are usually tough to get through. The song “Heartbreak Anniversary” by Giveon recounts a breakup that he went through in the past. This song is a solo song and was released February 21, 2021.

The song begins with Giveon saying “balloons are deflated, guess they look lifeless like me,” setting the tone for the beginning of the song. He reminisces about a past relationship and goes into detail about specific things he misses about that relationship.

Giveon later asks if his lover ever asks about him. He then says he is “building his hopes up” and how his hopes are like unopened presents. What he means in saying this is that he wishes to rekindle his relationship.

Overall, the song is a slower song but later picks up in intensity by increasing in volume and speeding up a little bit.

In the second part of the song, Giveon explores how he and his ex met and how they thought they would be together forever. He also talks about how she walked out on him and then asks why she did it. The song starts to slow down as it begins to end.

Giveon is known for his slow and heartbroken songs about past relationships and being in love.

You can listen to “Heartbreak Anniversary” on Spotify, Apple music, Pandora, and YouTube music.
